Race Relations Today

To sum up race-relations for any part of the world is not an easy task, especially in a place as diverse as America. But I think diverse is a very good word to help describe it, there are so many different races in America that there has to be a way for all of them to interact. I think that America does a pretty good job of keeping relationships under control though. Of course it is not perfect here and there is still many different cases of races clashing and not living together in perfect harmony but there is not a place on this earth where there is. In my life though I've had many experiences with being around different races, the cause of this is mostly because of my parents and the area and where I grew up in. I have never personally had any issues with another race, I've lived in Ambler my whole life where it is pretty diverse but I have always been able to get along with kids of all races and backgrounds. The heart of race-relations in America is pretty obvious in my mind because of the fact that our president is black. I think that helps sum up the fact that we are a very diverse country and that race-relations are very under control and civilized in our country. The controversies that stick out in my mind is the one with terrorists and how many people have the stereotype that all Middle Eastern looking people are terrorists and that black people are more violent or are looked at as criminals. This makes race-relations in America a little more tense but the majority of the people in the country do not think like that which makes us able to have many different races live among each other.
